Collection and use of Personal Information

When providing personal information to Sensory Intelligence® Consulting as described in this Notice, that personal information is collected directly from you, and you will know the precise personal information being collected by Us. We do not collect personal information from any other sources, except where it may automatically be collected as described in the sections titled “Embedded Content” and “Cookies”, if the information in that section is considered personal information.

Subject to our Disclosure of Personal Information term set out below. We do not sell, share or trade customers’ personal information collected online with third parties. Personal information collected online will only be disclosed within our business for internal use only.

Direct Marketing Communications

We may communicate with you using email, SMS, and other channels (sometimes through automated means) as part of our effort to market our products or services, administer or improve our products or services, or for other reasons stated in this Privacy Notice. You have an opportunity to withdraw consent to receive such direct marketing communications, as permitted by law.

If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails, or other communications from us, you may opt out by using the UNSUBSCRIBE link in any email communication you may have received. Further, you may express your communication preferences by:

User Generated Content

We may invite you to post content on the Service, including your comments and any other information that you would like to be available on the Service, which may become public (“User Generated Content”). If you post User Generated Content, all of the information that you post will be available to authorised personnel of Sensory Intelligence® Consulting. You expressly acknowledge and agree that We may access in real-time, record and store archives of any User Generated Content on our servers to make use of them in connection with the Service. If you submit a review, recommendation, endorsement, or other User Generated Content through the Service, or through other websites including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google, Twitter, and other similar channels, we may share that review, recommendation, endorsement or content publicly on the Service.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Data Retention

Sensory Intelligence® Consulting will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Notice. We will retain and use personal information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Sensory Intelligence® Consulting will also retain usage data for internal analysis purposes. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Sites and/or Portals, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods.

We retain personal information for the duration of your active engagement with our services. Specifically:

Account Data: Retained for 2 years following your last login or until a deletion request is made.
Financial Records: Retained for 7 years to comply with South African tax and legal obligations.

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of your personal data is important to Us, however, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of the information you transmit to our website. Transmission of your information to our website is entirely at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try and prevent unauthorised access.

Sensory Intelligence® Consulting ensures that the following measures are in place to mitigate data security breaches. We protect your personal information by:

Restricting access to personal information;
Maintaining technology products to prevent unauthorised computer access;
Securely destroying your personal information when it’s no longer needed for our record retention purposes;
Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for all administrative accounts on all systems.

Sensory Intelligence uses 128bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology when processing your financial details. 128-bit SSL encryption is estimated to take at least one trillion years to break and is the industry standard.

When you have chosen or been given a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping that password confidential. Please do not share your password with anyone.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 18 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from Our servers.

If We need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your information and your country requires consent from a parent, we may require your parent's consent before We collect and use that information.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Business Transactions

If Sensory Intelligence® Consulting is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law enforcement

We will not share your information with any other organisations other than related companies and those third parties directly related to the delivery of the products you have purchased from our website.

In exceptional circumstances, Sensory Intelligence® may be required to disclose personal information, such as when there are grounds to believe that the disclosure is necessary to prevent a threat to life or health, or for law enforcement purposes.

We are committed to complying with the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 and its principles.

International Data Privacy Rights (UK, EEA, and Switzerland)

We hereby confirm that all services are provided and governed from South Africa and if you are located in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) you grant us specific rights regarding your personal data. Any information that you provide to us may be transferred to and processed in South Africa or other countries around the world where we do business. Although this may include recipients of information located in countries where there may be a lower level of legal protection for your personal information than in your country, we will protect your information in accordance with requirements applicable to the law in your particular jurisdiction and take steps to only share with third parties that offer similar protection. By using our Service, you unambiguously consent to your information being collected, processed, used, and transferred as disclosed herein.

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your personal information only when we have a legal basis to do so, such as: performing a contract with you; when you have given explicit consent; when it is in our legitimate interest to offer the Service (provided your rights do not override that interest); or to comply with legal obligations.

We may use third-party service providers to help us deliver certain services, and it may result in the processing of personal information in data centres and locations outside of South Africa. For example, these service providers may provide us with essential information technology or tools we use to run our business. We may permit these service providers to process our business information and/or your personal information. We do not permit these service providers to process any personal information outside of a contract, and these service providers may collect personal information on our behalf. Privacy Rights

South African Privacy Rights

If you are a South African resident, South Africa law may provide you with certain rights with regard to your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (“POPIA”) and Promotion of Access to Information Act (“PAIA”), as well the Consumer Protection Act. Throughout this Privacy Notice you will find information required by POPIA regarding the categories of personal information collected from you; the purposes for which we use personal information, and the categories of third parties your data may be shared with. This information is current as of the date of the Notice and is applicable in the 12 months preceding the effective date of the Notice.

As a South African resident, the POPIA and PAIA provide you the ability to make inquiries regarding your personal information. Specifically, the degree to which the information is not already provided in this Privacy Notice, you have the right to request disclosure or action your personal information, including:

If your personal information is collected by us.
The specific pieces of personal information collected about you.
The ability to correct or delete certain personal information collected about you.

If we receive a POPIA request from you, we will first make a determination regarding the applicability of the law, and we will then take steps to verify your identity prior to responding. The steps to verify your identity may vary based on our relationship with you, but, at a minimum, it will take the form of confirming and matching the information submitted in the request with information already held by Sensory Intelligence® Consulting and/or contacting you through previously used channels to confirm that you submitted the request (i.e. confirming identity through contact information that we have on file, and/or the contact information submitted to make the request).

Sensory Intelligence® Consulting only processes special personal information (such as health-related sensory thresholds) when you provide explicit, informed consent through our Service for the purpose of delivering personalised sensory profiles. We do not knowingly collect data regarding religious beliefs, race, or criminal behaviour.

Data Breach Notification

In the event that we become aware of, or have reasonable grounds to believe that the personal information of a user has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will follow this protocol:

Notification Timeline: We will notify the relevant supervisory authority (such as the Information Regulator in South Africa or the ICO in the UK) and the affected data subjects as soon as reasonably possible after the discovery of the compromise.
Method of Notification: Notification will be sent via email to the address on record, or by other means permitted by law, to ensure the user can take protective measures.
Content of Notice: The notification will provide sufficient information to allow the affected user to take protective measures, including:

A description of the possible consequences of the security compromise.
A description of the measures that we intend to take or have taken to address the security compromise.
A recommendation regarding the measures to be taken by the data subject to mitigate the possible adverse effects of the security compromise.
The identity of the unauthorised person who may have accessed or acquired the personal information (if known).

Internal Security: We maintain strict procedures, including 128-bit SSL encryption and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), to mitigate the risk of such breaches occurring.

To exercise your right under the South African PoPIA requirements, to correct or delete your personal information, please contact our Information Officer. We will provide you with the prescribed Form 2 as required by the POPIA Regulations to facilitate your request.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

Sensory Intelligence® Consulting reserves the right to modify this Privacy Notice from time to time in order that it accurately reflects the regulatory environment and our data collection principles. When material changes are made to this Privacy Notice, we will post the revised Notice on our website. This Privacy Notice was last modified on 15 April 2026.
